The first stage of workshops on Writing Fiction for Older Children and Young Teens conducted by the famous Australian author Dr.Ken Spillman was held successfully at NILIS from 26–28 February. A total of 10 participants including both published authors and novices attended. The workshop series was created and organised by the Sri Lanka Section of the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY), of which Dr.Spillman is a Goodwill Ambassador. NILIS of the University of Colombo is the academic partner of the workshop series. The second and third stage of the workshops will be held in June and September this year.
