IBBY Sri Lankan Section was established in June 2018. Within a short period,we have won the support of all state authorities engaged in developing children’s literature and education. Furthermore, all private institutes and NGOs involved in developing the sector are working with us to address common issues.
The Sri Lankan Section follows the guidelines set by IBBY Worldwide for all our activities. We seek to promote our members’ involvement both within Sri Lanka and worldwide through IBBY’s membership network.
Members of IBBY belong to all strata of society. They include:

- illustrators
- translators
- journalists
- critics
- teachers
- university professors
- students
- librarians
- booksellers
- social workers
- parents interested in their children’s development
